It’s summertime! Longer days, sunshine and warmer temperatures are all instant mood boosters. But if you’re looking to fully enjoy a balanced summer full of wellness/self care and don’t know where to start, here are a few ideas and suggested weekly goals for you!

  1. Clean eating

Summer is the perfect chance to rejuvenate your diet and boost your eating habits with fresh, local and seasonal fruits and vegetables. Check your local farmers markets and get stocked up.

Goal idea: make half of all your plates veggies this week

     2. Moving your body

It’s so much easier to develop new physical activity habits when the weather is cooperating. Whether it be the fresh air and sunshine that’s making us more optimistic and energetic, it’s a perfect opportunity to latch onto a habit and carry it with you into the winter. Start with something as simple as a stroll!

Goal idea: try a new exercise you’ve never tried before

     3. Soaking up the sun

Get outside and get that sweet vitamin D. Vitamin D is an essential nutrient needed to support properly bodily functioning—everything from mood to immunity. Instead of laying on the couch, try rolling out a blanket and lounging amongst nature! Make sure to absorb that sunshine safely.

Goal idea: get outside for a minimum of 2 hours everyday

    4. Practicing balance

With the summer season comes an abundance of parties and late night gatherings. When you’re being offered things like summer cocktails, patio drinks and beach beers- it’s hard to say no. Try finding a bit of balance with non-alcoholic options and spacing out your alcohol intake- your body and mind will thank you!

Goal idea: for every 1 alcohol drink, have 1 non-alcoholic

   5. Take a break from technology

One of the best parts of summertime is that there is so much more to do. Shutting off the TV, closing the laptop and turning off the phone will leave you feeling refreshed and carefree- full summer vacation mode.

Goal idea: go tech-free for a few hours everyday

Here's to the healthiest summer yet!
